Miracles and Scientific Wonders in the Quran: A Revelation Ahead of Its Time

The Quran, Islam’s sacred text, holds a treasure trove of references that many see as miraculous and strikingly in tune with modern scientific discoveries. Dive into these awe-inspiring signs and facts, which highlight the profound wisdom contained within this ancient scripture:

1. Embryology

  • Reference: Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:12-14)
  • Details: The Quran describes the stages of human embryonic development—from a drop of fluid to a “leech-like clot,” then to a lump, bones, and flesh. These stages align remarkably well with what we now know through modern embryology.

2. Expanding Universe

  • Reference: Surah Adh-Dhariyat (51:47)
  • Details: This verse mentions that the universe is expanding, a concept that resonates with the Big Bang theory and the ongoing expansion of the cosmos discovered by scientists.

3. Mountains as Stabilizers

  • Reference: Surah An-Naba (78:6-7)
  • Details: The Quran describes mountains as pegs or stakes that stabilize the Earth. This is similar to the geological role of mountains in maintaining the Earth’s crust and reducing seismic activity.

4. Protective Atmosphere

  • Reference: Surah Al-Anbiya (21:32)
  • Details: The verse refers to the sky as a protective ceiling. This is akin to how Earth’s atmosphere protects life from harmful radiation and space debris.

5. Oceanic Barriers

  • Reference: Surah Ar-Rahman (55:19-20)
  • Details: These verses speak of a barrier between saltwater and freshwater bodies, reflecting the phenomenon of estuaries where these waters meet but do not mix completely.

6. Iron’s Cosmic Origins

  • Reference: Surah Al-Hadid (57:25)
  • Details: The Quran states that iron was sent down with great benefits for humans. Modern science reveals that iron arrived on Earth via meteorites, aligning with the idea of it being “sent down.”

7. The Water Cycle

  • Reference: Surah Az-Zumar (39:21) and Surah Ar-Rum (30:48)
  • Details: Various verses describe the water cycle, including evaporation, cloud formation, and precipitation. These descriptions are consistent with our understanding of the hydrological cycle.

8. Milk Production

  • Reference: Surah An-Nahl (16:66)
  • Details: The Quran explains how milk is produced in cattle, from digested food and blood. This accurately describes the biological process of lactation.

9. Phases of the Moon

  • Reference: Surah Ya-Sin (36:39)
  • Details: The Quran talks about the phases of the moon, reflecting the lunar cycle that we observe and study today.

10. Unique Fingerprints

  • Reference: Surah Al-Qiyamah (75:3-4)
  • Details: This verse implies the uniqueness of human fingertips. Today, we know that fingerprints are unique to each individual and are used for identification.

11. Botanical Pairs

  • Reference: Surah Ar-Rahman (55:52)
  • Details: The Quran mentions that every type of fruit exists in pairs, corresponding to the botanical fact that plants have male and female counterparts.

12. Pain Receptors

  • Reference: Surah An-Nisa (4:56)
  • Details: This verse suggests that the skin contains pain receptors. Modern science confirms that pain is felt through sensory receptors in the skin.

13. Pharaoh’s Preserved Body

  • Reference: Surah Yunus (10:92)
  • Details: The Quran states that Pharaoh’s body would be preserved as a sign. The discovery of mummified bodies of ancient Egyptian rulers aligns with this statement.

These remarkable insights reveal how the Quran’s messages resonate with modern scientific understanding, showcasing the timeless wisdom contained within its verses.

Speaking to PTI in January before the film’s theatrical release, the 50-year-old actor shared his experience of wearing the uniform: “The uniform holds a certain magic. In my career, I’ve worn three costumes that made me feel empowered.

Like in ‘Krrish,’ wearing the superhero cape gave me strength. In ‘Lakshya,’ donning the Indian Army officer’s uniform filled me with a sense of duty and strength. And in ‘Fighter,’ wearing the uniform made me feel a weight of responsibility and strength. It’s hard to replicate the power you feel from wearing a uniform. It’s a surreal experience.”

‘Manjummel Boys’ Review: Chidambaram’s Masterful Survival Thriller

While the survival thriller aspect evokes memories of Bharathan’s ‘Malootty’, this film diverges by closely linking events to the characters’ friendship. Chidambaram’s “Manjummel Boys” intricately connects details; a character’s loud screams and a tug-of-war competition surprisingly pay off, adding unexpected depth to the narrative.

In his debut film “Jan-E-Man,” Chidambaram showcased his ability to navigate between humor and seriousness seamlessly. With “Manjummel Boys,” inspired by a real-life incident, he faces different challenges. Despite the audience knowing the eventual outcome, the film manages to keep us engaged, which is quite remarkable.

Manjummel Boys kicks off casually, with the gang crashing a wedding and engaging in tiffs with a rival group. The laid-back vibe persists until a pivotal moment when one of them falls into a ravine. By then, the unique traits of the eleven friends have already etched themselves in our minds. This connection becomes crucial in the latter part of the film. Where the emotional depth of their bond takes center stage. The story hinges on the camaraderie. They share, adding a layer of emotional resonance that binds the audience to their journey.

Manjummel Boys (Malayalam)

  • Director: Chidambaram
  • Cast: Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, Jean Paul Lal, Chandu Salimkumar, Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurien, Khalid Rahman
  • Run-time: 135 minutes
  • Storyline: A group of eleven friends embarks on a trip to Kodaikanal, facing unexpected challenges when one of them falls into a ravine.

While the survival thriller aspect may evoke memories of Bharathan’s Malootty, this film diverges by intertwining events with their friendship. As a friend teeters on a rock’s edge, unseen from above, the scene transitions to childhood hide-and-seek and river swims. These aren’t random memories; past actions shape present events during their crisis.

Ajayan Chalissery’s meticulous production design, depicting the bat-filled ravine, coupled with Shyju Khalid’s visuals during the rescue and Sushin Shyam’s immersive yet subtle background score, creates a compelling sense of being present in the moment. During a pivotal scene, Sushin steps back, allowing Ilayaraja’s classic ‘Kanmani Anbodu Kathalan’ from Gunaa to take center stage. This gracefully executed sequence, also a tribute, almost redefines the memory of the original scene featuring Kamal Haasan.

The epilogue’s references to the real event, with snapshots of the actual people involved, enhance the film’s impact. The well-suited cast contributes significantly to the film’s success, delivering precisely what was needed. With Manjummel Boys, Chidambaram showcases a flawlessly crafted survival thriller, solidifying his position in the industry. Clearly, he has established himself as a filmmaker with staying power.

Rituraj Singh’s Sudden Heart attack: Link Between Pancreatic Illness and Heart Explained?

The news of TV actor Rituraj Singh’s passing at 59, following a sudden heart attack after treatment for a pancreatic illness, raises questions about the connection between the two conditions. People wonder if any form of pancreatic disease poses a risk to the heart. Although some studies suggest an association, a clear causation has not been established.

Rituraj Singh getting a heart attack

Dr. Sanjeev Gera, Director and HOD, Cardiology, Fortis Hospital, Noida, explains, Pancreatic illness can’t cause cardiac arrest directly. Unless someone has an undiagnosed heart condition or risk factors like diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking, or a sedentary lifestyle.

Individuals with these risk factors and pancreatic illness are vulnerable to small blockages causing heart attacks. Sometimes, clotting and blockages disrupt the heart’s electric impulses, leading to sudden cardiac arrest.

Based on patient anecdotes, those with pancreatic illness are often heavy smokers and alcoholics, increasing the likelihood of silent heart disease.

Furthermore, if a patient suffers from an infection such as acute pancreatitis, the body undergoes increased inflammation. Elevated inflammatory markers cause blood thickening, resulting in clot formation. Moreover, inflammation causes damage to blood vessel walls, rendering plaques susceptible to rupture, initiating clotting, and precipitating a heart attack.

Dr. Gera clarifies that a heart attack disrupts blood flow. The impaired heart tissue interferes with electrical signals that regulate the heart, culminating in a sudden cardiac arrest.

When dealing with patients experiencing acute pancreatitis, it’s crucial to consider stress cardiomyopathy. This condition, due to its taxing nature, prompts the body to release adrenaline and noradrenaline in response. The surplus adrenaline rush constricts the arteries and reduces blood flow to the heart.

Additionally, the excess adrenaline can lead to an influx of calcium into the cells. Disrupting the heart’s proper rhythm, inducing arrhythmia, halting the heart, and ultimately causing a sudden cardiac arrest. Dr. Gera emphasizes the importance of recognizing such connections to provide comprehensive care to patients with pancreatic illnesses.
